Dr Jason Monaghan studied at the London Institute of Archaeology, before working for the Guernsey Maritime Trust (1985–89) and as the Roman pottery specialist for the York Archaeological Trust (1989–93). He is the author of a number of novels, spent a decade working in financial compliance, and since 2006 has been Museums Director then Head of Heritage Services for the States of Guernsey.
